This is a fine example of a Luftwaffe officer’s visor cap (Schirmmütze), worn by officers from the rank of Leutnant up to Oberst. The cap is made from Luftwaffe grey tricot cloth and features silver piping, a hand-embroidered Luftwaffe eagle, and a silver bullion wreath with national cockade.

The buckle is marked 1939 and was manufactured by Overhoff & Company of Ludenscheid, a premier manufacturer of SS buckles from about 1927.
