These badges would normally have been awarded at the annual Tiroler Landesschiessen held in Innsbruck, Austria. To receive one, a minimum score had to be achieved in the three events "Wehrmann", "KK-Gewehr" and "Pistole" ("rifle", "small calibre rifle" and "pistol").

This is the second pattern and has the later ring-pull emergency release cord that was introduced so that the wearer could remove the suit quickly without the need to undo any zips.
