Wehrmacht EM/NCO Visor Cap (Heer Infantry) – 1937
An excellent and early example of a Wehrmacht Heer officer’s visor cap (Schirmmütze), produced in 1937 by Schlesische Mützenfabrik, Frankenstein.
This pre-war cap features the classic field-grey wool top with dark green band and white piping, denoting the Infantry branch. The front displays the early silvered national eagle and wreath with cockade, all original to the cap. It retains its black leather chinstrap and painted visor, both showing light, honest service wear.
The interior is fully lined in orange cotton, with a leather sweatband clearly stamped with the maker’s mark Schlesische Mützenfabrik Frankenstein and the year 1937. The size is marked 55½ under the celluloid sweatshield.
A genuine early-war officer’s cap with excellent character and patina — a fine example from the pre-1939 production period.
