German Eastern Peoples Award 1st Class '100' in Gold

Eastern Peoples Award 1st Class with Swords in Gold (Verdienstauszeichnung für Angehörige der Ostvölker, 1. Klasse in Gold). This series of awards was instituted on 14 July 1942 to recognize the contribution of volunteers from the Eastern European countries to Germany's war effort.

The zinc type medal just shows some minor wear and great detail overall, the medal regrettably lost most of its original golden finish
The medal is complete with a functional pin and catch. The medal is nicely maker marked with number '100' indicating production by the company of 'Wächtler & Lange' from Mittweida
