Waffen-SS M35 Double Decal Helmet – Early ET
Category:
€ 7.500,00
On behalf of a good friend of ours, we are offering:
A very interesting early M35 Double Decal SS helmet with a fascinating history. The helmet was manufactured by Eisenhüttenwerke Thale (ET) and is marked with the early lot number 2781. The shell size marking is no longer readable, while the leather liner is size 60 so probably an size 68
The helmet was most likely originally issued in factory green with early Pocher SS decals. At some stage, it was repainted black for parade use, presumably by the Allgemeine-SS. The black paint was subsequently removed to return the helmet to its green combat appearance for war
Both Pocher-style decals remain clearly recognizable despite their considerable wear. The helmet shows extensive paint loss, cracking and ageing, with traces of the different finishes still visible.
Particularly interesting is the factory-installed leather liner, which appears never to have been removed. The original split pins remain untouched, and the helmet retains its leather chinstrap.
A rare and highly interesting early SS helmet with a remarkable appearance and evidence suggesting several different periods of use. A fascinating piece of history!
