A very nice Wehrmacht Heer Artillery Officer's visor cap, made from fine field-grey wool with a dark green velvet centre band and red Artillery Waffenfarbe piping.
The cap features a beautiful high saddle-shaped crown and is complete with its silver-coloured metal eagle, officer's wreath and cockade, and silver bullion chin cord.
The interior features a light brown lining marked “Stirndruckfrei – Deutsches Reichspatent”, together with a leather sweatband bearing the “Deutsches Leder” marking. The sweatband also shows a faded handwritten former owner's name, which is no longer legible.
The cap is in excellent overall condition, retaining its beautiful shape, with only minor signs of age and wear, mainly to the interior and visor.
