Rare Wehrmacht Heer Panzer-Artillerie Oberfeldwebel Insignia Set
Category:
A very rare and beautiful matching insignia set for an Oberfeldwebel of Panzer-Artillerie-Regiment 4, consisting of a pair of shoulder boards and matching Panzer collar tabs.
The shoulder boards feature fine silver NCO braid on a black wool backing with the characteristic red artillery Waffenfarbe. Both boards retain their original metal regimental numerals "4" and two rank pips, indicating the rank of Oberfeldwebel.
The matching black wool collar tabs feature red piping and their original metal Panzer Totenkopf insignia, displaying a beautiful age-related patina. The reverse sides show the original attachment prongs.
Historical Background:
Artillerie-Regiment 4 was originally formed in 1935 and later became part of the 14th Panzer Division. In 1942, it was redesignated Panzer-Artillerie-Regiment 4. The regiment fought on the Eastern Front and was destroyed with the division at Stalingrad in early 1943. It was subsequently reformed and continued fighting until the end of the war, including operations in the Courland Pocket.
The entire insignia set displays the typical materials, construction and quality associated with early production. All pieces remain in excellent condition, showing only minor signs of age and wear.
A particularly attractive and seldom encountered early Panzer-Artillerie NCO insignia set, especially desirable with the matching collar tabs and numbered shoulder boards.
A fantastic and rare complete set in excellent condition!
