Fallschirmjäger Drop container (Abwurfbehälter) for weapons and ammunition (Mehrzwecke)

A very nice original German paratrooper drop container for ammunition and weapons (Mehrzwecke)!

The container is original but has been restored in a professional way and was once part of the collection of the Overloon War Museum in The Netherlands, famous for the Militracks event.

This specific container is for dropping ammunition and weapons during airborne operations, you can see that they are a little longer then the mortar, equipment and radio containers, and these are quite rare nowadays.

The container has a reproduction pulling bar and its original wheel frames , and the tires look to be the correct type too, just missing the white paint like seen often.

The container has been repainted in a standard issue Dunkelgelb or Sandgelb colour, for tropical environments or as standard from 1943-1945, and the white Kompanie and bone paint markings on it are restored like a container of the very famous original pictures during the landing on Crete in 1941!

The container has its original steel cables on top (for lifting the container into the aircraft) , all the original carrying handles are present aswell.

The container still has its original ID plate with production numbers, container type number ( FL 29680-1 ) and its production date, 1944.

It also comes with its original 'impact pillow' on top which is the part that hits the ground when dropped out of the aircraft to absorb the damage of the impact!

This drop container is mentioned in the very famous Fallschirmjäger book:
'German paratrooper Uniforms and Equipment 1939-1945, Volume 2: helmets, equipment and weapons' by Karl Veltzé on pages 342 and 343.

This is your chance to add a very nice piece of Fallschirmjäger equipment to your collection or reenactment group which is published in one of the most famous Fallschirmjäger books there is!

Due to the volume and weight, only pickup or delivery at one of the fairs in Houten is possible!!
