Wehrmacht Dorette Radio Set with Original Transport Box
Category:
Rare German Wehrmacht Kl.Fu.Spr.d (Kleinfunksprecher d), better known as the Dorette, complete with its original wooden transport box and various period accessories.
The Dorette was a compact portable radio transmitter and receiver used by the German Wehrmacht during the Second World War for short-range communication in the field.
This example remains in very nice, original condition, showing normal signs of age and wartime use. The radio retains its original field-grey paint, identification plate, controls, frequency scale and the complete instruction plate (Bedienungsanweisung). The well-known red warning "Feind hört mit!" is still clearly visible.
Particularly interesting is the original wooden transport box, retaining its original finish, carrying handle, metal fittings and fitted wooden compartments. The original antenna and battery box with leather fastening strap, connecting cable and plug are also included.
The set also comes with several original period battery packs, including an LS-Heizbatterie, together with their surviving paper and cardboard coverings. These batteries are naturally no longer usable and show age-related deterioration, but are interesting and increasingly difficult-to-find accessories.
The radio and its accessories are in good overall condition, with honest signs of age and use, as can be seen in the photographs. The equipment appears well preserved, but naturally it has not been possible to test whether the radio is still in working order. It is therefore offered as an untested collector's item.
A very attractive and seldom encountered Dorette radio set, especially desirable with its original wooden transport box, battery equipment and surviving period batteries.
These complete Dorette radio sets are very scarce and extremely hard to find.
Nice original set!
