A very nice and rare Luftwaffe lightweight M43 field cap, manufactured from thin, lightweight blue-grey fabric instead of the more commonly encountered heavier wool material.
This scarce summer-weight variation is considerably harder to find than the standard Luftwaffe M43 field caps.
The cap retains its original factory machine-sewn Luftwaffe trapezoid insignia, featuring the embroidered eagle and national cockade on a darker blue-grey wool backing. The insignia remains beautifully preserved and shows its original stitching.
The cap features the characteristic M43 construction with fold-down side panels, two dark grey pebbled buttons at the front and a nicely shaped visor.
The interior is lined with lightweight cotton fabric and is clearly size-stamped "55".
The cap remains in very nice, lightly worn condition, showing natural signs of age and use while retaining its excellent original shape and attractive appearance.
A particularly desirable and seldom encountered lightweight Luftwaffe M43 field cap, complete with its original factory-applied trapezoid insignia.
