Beautiful early aluminum belt buckle for enlisted men and NCOs of the Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD), dated 1936.
The reverse is clearly maker-marked “LGS 36”, while the original brown leather tab bears the manufacturer's stamp “L. Gottlieb & Söhne, Oberstein 1936”.
The buckle features excellent, sharp detailing, including the RAD spade and swastika surrounded by wheat ears. The finely pebbled background and the overall quality of the early aluminum construction are particularly attractive.
Complete with its original, matching 1936-dated leather tab, which remains in beautiful condition with a perfectly readable maker's stamp and excellent stitching.
The buckle itself is in virtually mint condition, retaining its beautiful original finish with hardly any signs of wear.
