Very nice early-war Wehrmacht K98 bayonet frog with retaining strap, manufactured from high-quality black leather.
The frog is maker-marked Friedrich Offermann & Söhne, Bensberg, and dated 1940.
This example is in outstanding, near mint condition, retaining its beautiful black leather finish, contrasting white stitching and all original metal rivets. The retaining strap and metal fastening stud are fully intact, showing only minimal traces of age and storage.
A particularly attractive, early-dated example that would make an excellent addition to any K98 bayonet or Wehrmacht equipment collection.
