Extremely Rare White Variant Wehrmacht Mine Warning Flag
Category:
€ 125,00
A particularly rare and unusual Wehrmacht warning flag, complete with its original long metal ground stake.
The triangular cloth flag features the characteristic large black Totenkopf (skull and crossbones) warning symbol. What makes this example especially interesting is the white/off-white cloth, as the overwhelming majority of surviving examples of this type are encountered in yellow. White examples are exceptionally difficult to find.
The cloth shows convincing age and period wear, with light staining, discoloration and traces of use. Importantly, the protected and folded areas of the fabric also appear white/off-white, indicating that this is not simply a heavily faded example of the commonly encountered yellow version. The black Totenkopf remains very well preserved and clearly visible.
n exceptionally interesting variant of this characteristic Wehrmacht warning equipment and considerably scarcer than the standard yellow examples
