Third Reich Forestry (Forst) Fedora Hat

A very attractive period German Forestry (Forst) fedora-style hat, constructed from grey felt with a wide dark green wool band and matching green edging around the brim.
The front of the hat retains its silver-coloured Forestry eagle insignia. To the side is an impressive natural hair plume, giving the hat its characteristic Forestry appearance.
The original Reich cockade is no longer present and has been replaced by a Deutsche Jägerschaft-style Jagdschutz badge. This badge measures approximately 42 × 32 mm.
I am not sure whether this is an original copy, as there were several versions.
The interior is fitted with its black leather sweatband and shows the typical relatively simple construction of this type of hat. The hat is approximately size 55.
Overall in attractive used condition with a good shape and strong colours. There is some minor moth damage and age-related wear, mainly visible around the green band and brim, but this does not detract greatly from its overall appearance.
A very decorative and increasingly difficult-to-find piece of period German Forestry headgear, particularly appealing with the large original-style hair plume still in place.
