German Forestry (Forstdienst) Silver & Green Parade Lanyard – Fangschnur

A very attractive German Forestry Paradefangschnur, featuring the characteristic combination of silver/aluminium-coloured cord with dark green interwoven details associated with the Forstdienst.

The lanyard is of elaborate construction, consisting of a broad decorative braided section together with the long double suspension cords and the original attachment loops. The contrasting dark green threads are woven throughout the silver-coloured cord and remain particularly clear.

The Fangschnur was worn with the Forestry service uniform as part of the formal or parade dress. Different patterns and colour combinations existed depending on the branch and period of use.
This example remains in excellent condition, retaining a very clean appearance with a crisp weave and strong contrast between the silver and green elements. The various attachment loops are still present and the lanyard displays extremely well.

A beautiful and increasingly difficult-to-find piece of German Forestry uniform insignia, especially desirable in this condition.
