Third Reich Reich Forestry Service Officer’s Bullion Visor Cap Wreath & Cockade
Category:
A very attractive Reich Forestry Service (Reichsforstdienst) officer’s visor cap wreath and cockade from the Third Reich period.
The insignia features an impressive, heavily hand-embroidered aluminium bullion oak-leaf wreath, worked in considerable detail on a dark green wool backing. Mounted centrally is the characteristic national cockade, constructed in metal with a black ribbed surround and the original red felt centre still present.
The reverse shows the typical period construction with a reinforced backing and the attachment of the central cockade clearly visible.
A particularly decorative and well-preserved example, retaining a bright appearance to the bullion embroidery with only normal age and storage wear. The large size and elaborate workmanship make these Forestry cap insignia considerably more impressive than the standard military visor cap wreaths.
A fine and increasingly difficult-to-find piece of Third Reich Forestry headgear insignia, ideal for completing a Forestry visor cap or as a display piece in its own right.
