Wehrmacht Heer / Luftwaffe Officer’s Visor Cap Cord

A very nice example of a silver officer’s visor cap cord (Offiziers-Mützenkordel) as worn on the Schirmmütze by officers of the German Heer and Luftwaffe.

The cord is manufactured from finely woven silver-grey aluminium metallic thread (Aluminiumgespinst) and features the characteristic double braided construction with decorative woven knots and attachment loops at both ends.

The cord remains in very nice condition, showing only light age-related patina. The metallic braiding is still tight and well preserved, with attractive matching coloration throughout. Both attachment loops and all decorative knots remain complete.

A particularly attractive loose example, ideal for completing an officer’s visor cap or as a representative piece of period German uniform insignia.
