A very rare Technische Nothilfe (TeNo) Officer Candidate / Führeranwärter visor cap, manufactured by Litto-Mütze of Vienna.
The cap is constructed from fine dark blue wool with a black centre band and features the distinctive black-and-silver interwoven piping, together with matching black-and-silver braided cap cords. This unusual configuration is associated with the Führeranwärter (Officer Candidate) grade and differs from the standard TeNo Führer visor cap with solid silver piping and cords.
The cap retains its aluminium wreath and national cockade. It was discovered during a house clearance in Germany without its eagle, while the wreath and cockade were already present. A correct period Assmann-manufactured aluminium TeNo eagle was subsequently fitted to complete the cap.
The interior is lined in black and retains its leather sweatband. Beneath the damaged celluloid sweat shield, the partially preserved gold maker's logo can still be identified as “Litto-Mütze – Wien – Sonderklasse”, indicating a privately purchased quality cap.
The exterior remains in very attractive condition with a strong shape and nicely preserved dark blue wool. The interior shows honest age and wear, particularly to the sweatband and celluloid sweat shield.

A particularly scarce and attractive TeNo visor cap in the seldom encountered Officer Candidate configuration, made even more interesting by its identifiable Vienna manufacturer.
