Hitler Youth Fahrtenmesser – Carl Eickhorn, Solingen – RZM M7/66 – 1938
Category:
€ 450,00
A well-used and untouched Hitler Youth Fahrtenmesser, manufactured by the renowned firm Carl Eickhorn of Solingen and dating from 1938.
The blade bears the characteristic Original Eickhorn Solingen squirrel trademark, together with the RZM emblem and maker code M7/66. The year 1938 is additionally stamped at the ricasso. This combination of the traditional Eickhorn trademark together with the RZM marking is typical of the desirable transitional production period.
The knife retains its black chequered grip plates and inset enamelled HJ diamond. The grip shows considerable period wear, including a crack to the reverse grip plate, while the HJ diamond has some damage to the red enamel. The nickel-plated hilt fittings remain attractive with normal traces of age and use.
The blade is in well-used condition, showing considerable age patina, staining and areas of surface corrosion, but importantly the Eickhorn and RZM markings remain clearly visible.
Complete with its black painted steel scabbard and original leather belt hanger with retaining strap. Both the scabbard and leather show honest age and service wear consistent with the overall condition of the knife.
A genuine-looking, heavily used 1938 transitional Carl Eickhorn HJ Fahrtenmesser, displaying plenty of character and retaining its desirable dual Eickhorn / RZM M7/66 markings.
