Very nice example of the Iron Cross 2nd Class 1939, manufactured by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Heeresbedarf in der Graveur- und Ziselierinnung, Berlin, with the maker code “23” clearly stamped into the suspension ring.
Three-piece construction with a magnetic iron core and silvered frame. The black finish to the core is very well preserved, while the beading still retains a good amount of its original light frosted finish. The polished outer frame shows some normal age and wear, giving the cross an attractive and honest appearance.
Complete with a nice long ribbon.
A very attractive and clearly maker-marked example of the Iron Cross 2nd Class by maker 23.
