Wehrmacht (Heer) Infantry EM/NCO Visor Cap (Stone Mint)
Category:
€ 1.100,00
A particularly attractive and exceptionally well-preserved Heer EM/NCO visor cap for Infantry, featuring the characteristic white Waffenfarbe piping.
The cap is manufactured from fine-quality light field-grey wool with a black velvet band and white piping around the crown and both edges of the band. It retains its aluminium Heer eagle and wreath with national cockade, together with the original black patent-leather chinstrap and visor.
The interior is equally impressive, retaining the fine brown leather sweatband, light-coloured lining and celluloid sweat shield. Beneath the sweat shield is the rarely encountered retailer/maker marking “Karl Schmitt – Marburg-Lahn – Wörthstr. 4.” Wörthstraße was the historical name of the present-day Liebigstraße in Marburg. The cap is approximately size 57.
Karl Schmitt appears to have been a local private retailer or maker rather than one of the large, commonly encountered cap manufacturers.
An outstanding example showing only minimal traces of age and wear, with a beautiful shape and exceptionally fresh appearance throughout. A very difficult Infantry EM/NCO visor cap to upgrade, particularly with this unusual and rarely encountered Marburg retailer/maker label.
I have never seen a visor cap in such good condition.
