Wehrmacht (Heer) M42 Field Cap – Kurtze & Storckmann K.G. – 1942
Category:
Excellent Heer M42 field cap in outstanding mint condition, manufactured by the rarely encountered firm Kurtze & Storckmann K.G., Berlin C.
Constructed from high-quality field-grey wool and retaining an exceptionally fresh appearance, with virtually no signs of wear. The cap retains its factory-applied BeVo woven Heer eagle and separate national cockade, both still showing their original period stitching.
Complete with the typical fold-down side panels, two original field-grey front buttons and ventilation eyelets to both sides.
The interior is equally well preserved and fitted with its clean grey lining. Clearly maker marked “Kurtze & Storckmann K.G., Berlin C”, dated 1942 and size stamped 57.
A particularly attractive and difficult-to-find maker variation of the M42 field cap, made even more desirable by its exceptional condition, clear markings and untouched factory-applied insignia.
This model was only produced for one year (1942) and therefor these caps are quite hard to find, since many were converted with a bill later in the war to look like a M43
Size: 57.
A superb example for the advanced headgear collector.
