German Gebirgsjäger Ski Tip Emergency Repair Clamp

An original German aluminium ski tip emergency repair clamp, designed for field repairs to broken wooden skis. These repair devices were carried by German mountain troops, including the Gebirgsjäger, allowing a damaged ski to remain serviceable after the tip had broken off. The repair clamp is fitted over the broken end of the ski and secured by means of the original adjustable wing nuts, providing a practical emergency repair in the field.
This example is manufactured from lightweight aluminium and retains both of its original wing nuts and clamping screws. It measures approximately 27 cm in length and 8 cm in width, and remains in very good condition with only minor signs of age and use.
A scarce and highly displayable piece of German mountain troop equipment, ideal for complementing a Gebirgsjäger ski display or a winter warfare collection.
