Original Wehrmacht aluminium field telephone cable tension hook (Abspannhaken) as used by the German Nachrichtentruppe for securing and tensioning field telephone cables during the installation of communication lines.
The hook is clearly dated 1937 and bears a WaA183 Waffenamt acceptance stamp together with the manufacturer's crowned logo. Constructed from cast aluminium, typical of early production.
A scarce and attractive piece of original German field communications equipment in good used condition, displaying honest age and service wear.
