A very desirable original Walther Modell HP (Heerespistole) semi-automatic pistol in 9 mm Parabellum, complete with its original magazine
The slide can be retracted, the pistol can be cocked and dry fired, and the magazine is removable.
The Modell HP was the commercial predecessor of the famous P38 and was produced by Waffenfabrik Walther, Zella-Mehlis. Manufactured in far smaller numbers than the standard military P38, the HP has become a highly sought-after variant among Walther collectors.
This example retains the original Walther banner slide legend marked "Waffenfabrik Walther Zella-Mehlis (Thür.) – Walther's Patent – Cal. 9 m/m – Mod. HP". It also bears the desirable WaA359 Waffenamt acceptance mark, confirming wartime military inspection and acceptance at the Walther factory, together with the original Eagle/N commercial nitro proof. The pistol is complete with its original black bakelite grips fitted with the correct lanyard ring.
Overall in very good original condition with an attractive honest patina and only light handling wear consistent with age.
