A scarce and original matching pair of German Heer officer shoulder boards for the elite Infanterie-Regiment "Großdeutschland", later incorporated into the famous Panzergrenadier-Division Großdeutschland.
The shoulder boards are in the rank of Leutnant, featuring the correct silver Russian braid on a white Waffenfarbe underlay for the Infantry branch. Both retain their original gilt brass "GD" cyphers, displaying an attractive age patina and remaining period-mounted with their original attachment prongs.
The pair measures approximately 11 cm in length and remains in very good condition, showing only honest age and light service wear. The shoulder boards are a well-matched pair and have never been altered or restored.
A rare and highly desirable original matching pair, ideal for an advanced Großdeutschland or Wehrmacht collection.
