A rare and increasingly difficult to find Gasschutzanzug 38 (Gas Protection Suit Model 1938), manufactured by Gummifirma m.b.H., Köln-Dellbrück and dated January 1942.
This complete protective set consists of the hooded rubber jacket with integrated gloves and the matching rubber trousers with shoulder straps. The suit was designed to protect the wearer against chemical warfare agents and hazardous contamination and was issued to Luftschutz personnel, gas protection units and decontamination teams.
The interior retains clear wartime markings, including the manufacturer's details, Luftschutz approval markings and size designation "Größe 2". Constructed from heavy vulcanized black rubber with sealed seams throughout.
What makes this example especially desirable is its condition. The rubber remains remarkably supple and flexible throughout, something rarely encountered with surviving Gasschutzanzug 38 suits. Only minor age-related cracking is present around the integrated glove cuffs, a common issue seen on virtually all surviving examples. The suit also retains its original belt and numerous factory-applied markings.
An impressive and well-preserved example of the German Gasschutzanzug 38, rarely encountered in such displayable condition.
