Protective goggles intended for use in hazardous environments such as civil defence, decontamination work, industrial protection duties and gas-protection training. The goggles feature a black Bakelite-style frame, large glass lenses, extensive mesh ventilation panels and an adjustable elastic head strap.
The design provided eye protection against dust, smoke, chemical splashes and airborne particles while maintaining airflow to reduce fogging. The goggles were found together with the Luftschutz protective suit ( item 57370 )and display a period appearance consistent with pre-war and wartime civil defence equipment.
An attractive and unusual piece of protective equipment that displays very well alongside Luftschutz and gas protection items.
