U.S. WWII Army Pile Liner Set – Jacket & Trousers (Cold Weather) – Rare
Category:
€ 350,00
A matching and original World War II U.S. Army cold weather pile liner set, consisting of both the liner jacket and corresponding liner trousers. Designed as part of the U.S. Army layering system, this set provided essential insulation in extreme cold conditions.
Both pieces are constructed from the characteristic brown/grey pile material, offering excellent warmth, and are backed with wool/cotton lining. The jacket features original front button closure and knit cuffs for added insulation, while the trousers are fitted with an OD green waistband, original “GRIPPERS” snap fasteners, and drawstrings at the ankles to prevent heat loss.
These liners were intended to be worn beneath outer garments such as parkas and over-trousers, and were widely issued to U.S. Army personnel operating in cold climates, including infantry, mechanized, and mountain-trained units.
The set remains in very good condition, showing only light signs of use. Both pieces are well-preserved, with strong pile and no major damage. The jacket retains a visible size marking “38”.
A rare opportunity to acquire a complete and matching WWII U.S. Army cold weather liner set, increasingly difficult to find intact.
