M40 Combat Helmet – SE62 (untouched)
Category:
€ 750,00
A fine and honest example of a World War II German M40 combat helmet, manufactured by Sächsische Emaillierwerke, Lauter (marked SE62). This helmet represents a classic mid-war production piece, retaining a strong and untouched appearance.
The shell preserves a substantial amount of its original factory-applied feldgrau textured paint, showing attractive and natural field wear throughout. The surface displays the correct matte finish and patina expected from a genuine period-used helmet.
The interior remains complete with its original M31 size 55 liner, featuring an steel liner band. The leather is well-preserved with typical signs of age and use, and still retains its original configuration, including the period drawstring. All split pins are intact and undisturbed, further confirming the helmet’s authenticity and untouched state.
The helmet is clearly stamped SE62, with a lot number 1268
A beautiful helmet to potentially fit a smaller model SS cover onto.
