An original Dutch World War II commemorative medal honoring the historic railway strike ordered by the Dutch government in exile on 17 September 1944 in support of the Allied airborne landings during Operation Market Garden.
The strike, carried out by employees of the Nederlandsche Spoorwegen (Dutch Railways), severely disrupted German logistics and transport capacity in the occupied Netherlands and became one of the most important acts of organized civilian resistance during the war.
This is not a small wearable decoration but a substantial presentation medallion.
