With the late Henri Mounine (the leading expert on French and European history of the Waffen SS volunteers in German uniform) as the script's guide, Marc de Witte, a young 24-year-old Belgian designer, provides us with the first panel depicting the last desperate struggle of the survivors of the 33rd "Charlemagne" Division, which, along with other "foreign" and German units, defended the Reich's capital from the Soviets to the last in April-May 1945. A remarkable work, both in terms of graphics and text.
