Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge – Arno Wallpach, Salzburg

Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge (Erdkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe), produced by Arno Wallpach of Salzburg.
Constructed in zinc with traces of the original silver finish remaining and showing characteristic wartime oxidation. The badge features the Luftwaffe eagle swooping down upon a swastika above a thunderbolt striking from a cloud, surrounded by an oak-leaf wreath.

This example displays all the typical Wallpach manufacturing traits – flat reverse, large domed catch, and robust hinge block construction – all consistent with mid- to late-war production.

A genuine, unmarked example in untouched condition, with honest patina and no repairs.
