US WWII Yukon Packboard ( First Pattern )

Special equipment was created to outfit the "mountain men" of the 10th, as well as the combined US/Canadian special mountain infantry known the First Special Service Force. Some chose to use the "yukon" packboard developed from the old "Trapper Nelson" packs used by Alaskan guides to carry heavy gear and equipment

It proved extremely useful in packing heavy loads on the march and even on skis
in a very good condition
