M40 2 tone camo chickenwire helmet with matching gasmask cannister
A beautiful example of a very rare original camouflage set belonging to one soldier!
The set exists of M40 2 tone camouflage helmet with chickenwire and improvised wire and a stunning 2 tone gasmask cannister in the same matching camouflage.
The helmet is a Quist size 62 and it has Lotnumber 337, and the name of the owner is also in the rim.
This is the info we got from the person who found the set:
'At the beginning of the war he was in a WH unit, After he was wounded, he went to Germany to the luftschutz with 8,8 cm FLAK unit and at the end of the war he went back to the WH for the Ardennes Offensive'.
This would also explain the bright blue colour that the inside of the helmet was painted with, it seems like a typical Luftschutz colour to us.
Overall a very rare and unique camo set that has some great history!
