WW1 German Personal Box With Contents, 124th Regiment
A absolutely stunning once in a lifetime find:
A true time capsule wooden crate that belonged to a soldier of the 124th Württemberg regiment, 3th Landsturm Kompanie, XIII infantrie regiment 19
( which Erwin Rommel also served in in WW1 ).
The box contains many items that are dated between 1916 and 1918, inculding:
tent quarter, canteen cups, messkit, shaving kit, issued undershirts, weapon maintenence material, leather strap, playcards, chess-set, oil can, tabacco tin, gloves, esbit with original box, coffee and washing soap.
A truly historical find that will ABSOLUTELY not be sold seperate REGIMENT HISTORY BELOW:
The box belonged to an Enlisted Men in the 124th Infantrie regiment ( 6th Württemberg 'king Wilhelm 1'. like the cap and uniform set listed aswell.
This regiment got created in 01-06-1673 during the Franco-Dutch war and saw action for hundreds of years , in some very well known battles ( Napoleonic war, Argonne forest in WW1 ).
The regiment is mostly known for a very famous member, Erwin rommel, Field-Marshal to be joined and fought in this Regiment in WW1.
